Kitchener - 35 years and still going strong

Kitchener, founded in 1967.

IN 1975 Kitchener Skateboards was established. The company specialised on import and distribution of American skateboard-brands for Switzerland, whilst also running its own skate shop. The company and skate shop were renamed Kitchener SportinGoods in 1982. In addition to distribution and manufacturing of skateboards, roller-skates and accessories, the company started making and distributing snowboards (HOOGER BOOGER) and from 1988 took over distribution of skate shoe brands ÊS, ETNIES, EMERICA and the products of the brand RIDE.

Today KITCHENER is a shop on three floors (450m2), located at Aarbergergasse 40, in Bern, Switzerland. The shop's focus is on textiles and shoes for both men and women, on accessories, magazines and books. In the words of the owners: «We are continuously travelling around the world for more than three centuries now, be it privately on our extensive journeys or professionally as buyers, always on the lookout for products we'd like to buy as much for ourselves as for the shop».
