The Kitchener Bag: «Kitchenersack»
«Thank you! This fits in perfectly!» - we proclaimed in 1996, as our Kitchener bag got a guest-appearance with Züri West*: «People are getting up, and she takes her Kitchener bag and the crash-helmet…» Kuno Lauener sings in the song «Sofa» – and this was the proof, that the expression «Kitchenersack» had become integral to the collective vocabulary of the canton Bern. We're proud of this.
The collection
A piece of Bernese identity
It is often the simple things that come through: Lauener's lyrical accuracy is based on the straightforward way of his lyrics. In the same way, the Kitchener bag is a simple product: a bit of nylon, thread, two rivets and two laces – since 1984 we make the Kitchener bag from these parts. What became of this apparently banal everyday piece can be seen on the streets of Bern: a much loved, versatile mini-rucksack, a durable holdall, a timeless accessory and not least a piece of Bernese identity.
Longevity in fast-paced times
«Never change a winning horse», so an old saying from the world of horse racing goes. It's a credo we stick to. Since a good twenty years the Kitchener bag firmly holds a top place in our sales-chart and we wouldn't dream of changing it. Naturally there's the occasional slight modification, such as the zipper-model for example or the model with seethrough PVC. And of course we constantly print new colours and patterns on our bags. The system of the bag though hasn’t changed since day one. The Kitchener bag remains the Kitchener bag - a lasting piece in a fast-paced time.
The Kitchener bag just learnt to swim
The waterproof version of our cult bag will go with you to take a dip. Be it a river or a lake, the «Aarebag» will keep your belongings dry.

To avoid mix-ups, the bag can be personalised.
Kitchener Shopper

The Kitchener bag family has a new member:
the «Kitchener Shopper».
This handy bag made from woven nylon is re-usable, waterproof and can be worn over the shoulders thanks to its extended handles.
*(«Züri West» is Switzerlands most famous indie-pop-rock group. Their lead singer Kuno Lauener sings in a Bernese swiss-german dialect.)
